In Downtown Chico recently, I knew that something was happening, or about to happen. There was much talk about this event, and I knew it was coming given the heightened levels of vehicle noise. It was the annual Chico Toy & Food Fun Run, where motorcyclists from around the area congregate for a rally and ride through downtown, each bringing 2 gifts to donate to children during the holidays.
I usually love the spectacle of hundreds of cyclists buzzing through downtown, streets blocked, people congregating on corners, and decorated bikes and riders in Santa hats. But what I loved most this year was the retro police car used to block Main Street in downtown Chico, an old Dodge coupe with classic round spinning red light on top.
