Holiday Memories

We've just returned from a brief trip up north to see my parents in Portland. I'll have some more details and photos to share with you from that trip soon, but for now, it's time to get through the build-up of holiday photos I have finally finished processing and am ready to show you! Let's start with the eats, since sweets and treats are such a big part of the holidays and lead to a great deal of resolutions involving weight loss. Our Christmas Eve was a feast of melty, gooey fondue made with aged Gruyere and Vacherin, with crusty bread and apples for dipping. There was also crab, and lots of it.

Christmas Eve dinner is usually in the living room, near the cozy fire, a relaxing affair. I couldn't pass up enjoying a glass of Sierra Nevada Brewery's 30th Anniversary Ale, a hoppy, slightly sweet glass of deliciousness, with our meal.
