For those of you who have followed this blog for some time, you'll remember my series of door images from San Miguel de Allende in Mexico, January 2009. In cities where much of the architecture looks the same, especially colonial and European cities, the front door can be an opportunity for personality, uniqueness. In San Miguel, it was a bright and bold color choice or a distinct door knocker.
I didn't particularly notice a trend with doors in Carmel. The housing is a bit more varied in design, but there were a few remarkable doors and entryways worth capturing during our stay there. I think the best part of a great door is letting your imagination wonder what must be behind it...
