Popping Up Everywhere

If there's one thing that seems to grow quite naturally in the damp, wet climate Seattle affords, it would be mushrooms. While some are edible and I imagine that people claim some are even psychedelic, the one that popped up in our front yard was most likely just your ordinary, garden-variety cap mushroom.


How much does this remind you of the mushrooms that pop up in Super Mario Bros.?

I was happy to capture this mushroom early one recent morning, because shortly thereafter, the grounds crew that was working on landscaping and power washing our sidewalks rid the grass of many of these beautiful subjects.
