This past weekend Molly and I managed to escape Chico two days in a row to frequent the county's best farms and wineries. It was
Passport Weekend for the
Sierra Oro Farm Trail. This was the best agricultural tour I've been on. Well, this was technically my first time participating in a tour like this, but I've been to farms before. Passport Weekend was affordable, featured delicious food, lots of wine options, and amazing photo opportunities. I'm going to be sharing some of these experiences and snapshots with you over the next several days. I'm still astonished at the variety of offerings in such close proximity to each other.
We began our tour at
Chaffin Family Orchards near Oroville, California. Our passport booklet was stamped and we waited to sample delicious apricot and peach jams and quiche made with their own eggs. They had the farm decorated for Fall and I couldn't resist capturing their Autumnal displays, which really just consisted of pumpkins and hay. But what says Fall better than round, orange squash and a sturdy bale of hay to display them?
Stay tuned for more photos and stories from Chaffin Family Orchards and our many stops on the tour. It was an amazing experience!
