The Party

So yesterday I blogged about Hanna's big graduation. I also shared with you some of the photos captured at the commencement and also in a graduation senior portrait shoot, which you can see at her custom website, hanna.ericlovelin.com. But what was really fun about the whole set of festivities was the Mexican-themed party we threw for Hanna and her friends on Monday night.

It was an amazing evening for a party. We had set up tables with fresh flowers and handwoven tablecloths from Guatemala. A family friend had helped with food preparations, including pineapple agua fresca, Mexican rice and beans, carnitas from a local Mexican deli, lots of fresh salsas and guacamole, and a huge batch of fresh margaritas from yours truly. Oh yeah - there were a healthy amount of Mexican beers on hand too. The party rental store, from which we got many of the chairs for dinner, even passed along a bouquet of graduation balloons to help celebrate Hanna's big accomplishment. I've captured many of these details in the storyboard below.

It was a great event. A good number of Hanna's friends arrived in style, ready to eat. And there was a great deal of food to consume. Here's a photo of Hanna with Molly and also with her friend Alli.

Overall, it was a great evening. The party moved inside once a few big raindrops began to fall, but not before we had churros with vanilla ice cream and chocolate sauce to really top things off. Here's what our seating area looked like shortly before dinner. Thanks everyone for making the party such fun and a success!
