Spinning in Living Color

Next time you visit your local fair/carnival/traveling fun center, stop and look near those big, motion-filled rides and I guarantee you will see a photographer with his or her camera mounted on a tripod attempting to capture the vibrant color and action that can be depicted in long-exposure night photography. Even as I stood on Portland's Morrison Bridge to capture these shots of the Waterfront Village ferris wheel, I was joined by two photographers with the exact same goal in mind.

While a good swirl of color is often the goal, I happen to love the incidental geometric patterns that emerge in these photos. Enjoy!
