More Letterpress! (Part III)

I would contend that for many artists their pursuit is a very personal one. I've always thought that such creativity just doesn't appear out of thin air. Such is the case with Rebekah Tennis's new line of cards, My Sons. These four blank greeting cards are inspired by classic stylings of art and architecture in Korea and Pakistan, the two birth countries of Rebekah's and Matt's young boys. The idea is a fantastic one, and Rebekah was inspired by four unique and interesting designs. And 20% of the profits from the sale of these cards goes to orphan care in the respective countries.

Pakistan

Two of the greeting cards were inspired by the cultural heritage of the oldest Tennis son. These designs, which I believe Rebekah drew by hand before making the printing plates, are drawn from old Pakistani tile work seen while visiting Pakistan.

Korea

And these were inspired recently upon the arrival of the newest Tennis son, with inspiration drawn from Korean celadon vase and lattice work designs.

A few close captures to finish out this post. Look at that printing detail!
